[ARCHIVED] Sign up for Community Solar-save up to 10% on electric bill

If you want to save up to 10% on your electric bills and help the environment and Greenburgh Nature Center this is a fantastic opportunity

SAVE MONEY WITH COMMUNITY SOLAR -- AN OPPORTUNITY FOR RENTERS, HOMEOWNERS, AND ELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS -- SOLAR BENEFITS WITH NO ROOF REQUIRED

IF you sign up you also will help the GREENBURGH NATURE CENTER

Community Solar allows people and eligible organizations to subscribe to a large solar installation located in a place that’s optimal for solar (e.g. on a warehouse roof or landfill). Energy produced by the solar farm goes to the utility and the utility applies credits on the electricity bills of those who enroll. People and eligible organizations can enroll in any available community solar farm in their utility area!  I signed up earlier this week and hope you do also!

Save up to 10% off electricity bills each month

NO cost to join or cancel anytime

NO solar installation on your property

Keep your current electricity supplier (Westchester Power, ConEd, etc.). Community solar is compatible with any electricity supplier and does not replace it.

Support the Greenburgh Nature. Type "GNC" as the PROMO code upon sign up and Sustainable Westchester will contribute $50 back to the GNC!

Quick Sign Up at SustainableWestchester.org/Solar

How does subscribing to community solar affect my electricity bill?

Each month, you earn a solar credit that offsets your ConEd electric bill (based on the solar power produced at the solar farm). The solar farm then charges you, via autopay, for the solar credit at a 10% discount, providing you savings. For example, your utility charges you $115 for electricity on your monthly bill and you receive a $100 solar credit for your share of the electricity generated by the solar farm. Your utility bill is reduced by the credit and you pay the remaining $15 to your utility. Then, the solar farm bills you for the $100 credit at a 10% discount, and you pay $90 for the solar credit and save $10 that month. There is no cost to join or leave the program.

Who can sign up for community solar?

Anyone! Renters, homeowners, and even eligible organizations can subscribe to community solar. Those with solar panels already installed are unable to join. There's still time for you to take advantage of this opportunity. Join 1500+ of your Westchester neighbors already signed up for community solar with Sustainable Westchester.

Environmental Impact. Participants in Sustainable Westchester's Westchester Power program can also enroll in community solar and DOUBLE THEIR SUPPORT for renewable energy! Only those with solar installed on their home are not eligible to sign up for community solar.

Enrolling is easy and takes ten minutes!
