[ARCHIVED] Motorized wheelchair/scooter donated to survivor of Covid-19 who has financial problems

An anonymous donor helping a resident who survived Covid-19 and who lost a loved one with a motorized wheelchair. We are fortunate to live in a community that cares!

motorized wheelchair update for resident who lost a loved one from Covid and had Covid himself. About two weeks ago I posted an advisory about a man who lost a loved one due to Covid last year. He also had a bad case of Covid-19, was in a coma but survived. He is disabled, has financial issues and asked for a motorized wheelchair so he could get around. The response from residents was overwhelming. Some people offered us unneeded motorized wheelchairs. Others offered to donate money to the cause or to set up a go fund me page.
What happened?
I asked Jared Rosenberg, our EMS Supervisor to stop by at his house and to check out his condition. Jared informed me that the resident needed more than a motorized wheelchair --something more like a motorized wheelchair/scooter that he can use to get around. A resident of the town offered to pay for the entire new scooter/wheelchair provided that her name be kept anonymous. The motorized wheelchair/scooter is being ordered.
Thank you to a wonderful community for caring.
