I am pleased that the Governor has expanded the list of those eligible for the vaccine. Many residents with medical issues have been complaining. It's nice to know that you are being heard and that the state is responsive to constituent feedback.
And, thank you to residents who have signed up to volunteer as COVID vaccine angels and assist seniors navigate the registration process. So far over 50 volunteers have registered as Covid vaccine angels. I'm also hoping that we can help some seniors with transportation to the vaccine sites if they don't have cars. We are going to have our first organizational zoom meeting at 7 PM on Thursday evening. If you want to volunteer and help seniors with registration or transportation please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com.. I'm hopeful that we can start our serious outreach sometime next week.
The phone lines are very busy that the state set up and many people have been calling me all day saying they can't get through. I think that things will get better. Everyone is trying to register all at once. In the coming days/weeks there will be more places to get vaccines - think it will be less confusing and more organized.
