I'm going to ask our senior programming staff to assist seniors who find it difficult scheduling appointments on line or by phone
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT GETTING YOUR COVID VACCINE
Have any questions about COVID? Have friends who are seniors who don't have computers and can't register for a covid vaccine on line? Encourage them to call 1 -888- 364- 3065. I just tried calling to see if I'd be put on hold for hours and was pleasantly surprised: only a few minutes wait. The State Department of Health also has a general phone number: at 1-866-881-2809. You can also email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Some seniors, especially the very frail elderly and disabled, may need assistance completing the on line form or even scheduling appointments by phone. I plan to ask the Greenburgh senior programming staff to provide assistance to those who need extra help. We want our seniors not to be stressed by the process. If you know anyone (could be yourself) who needs help please e mail me at email@example.com with a phone number. Please note that the town does not administer the vaccinations. We don't have any control over the timing of the vaccine appointments. We are at the mercy of the state of NY.
If you have a positive or negative experience scheduling appointments for vaccines, having your questions answered, please e mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will report all experiences, positives and negatives to the state. My cell is 438 -1343
Governor Cuomo plans to widen the groups of people eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine to include persons over 75 and essential workers. High-risk residents of nursing homes and health care workers will still be prioritized after this change. Eligibility will widen on Monday, January 11th. New York State has indicated that they will update their vaccine webpage, available at the following link, to provide for vaccine sign-up.
New York State’s vaccine webpage is available here: https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/
Those eligible to receive the vaccine will receive a notification when vaccine appointments are available if they complete the following form. As a reminder, wait times may be longer than 20 weeks due to exceedingly high demand: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JFX97LP
