phone system not working...Library Guild needs volunteers..thank you Hartsdale Rotary

New phone system at Town Hall not working (hopefully will be corrected early next week)....Library Guild needs volunteers...thank you Hartsdale Rotary

No one picking up the phones when you call town employees?  Received some complaints. We recently changed phone systems. Been having some technical problems which should be resolved next week. Sorry for the inconveniences. If you can't get through - and need help please e mail me and I will personally follow up with the appropriate department (pfeiner@greenburghny.com).

The Greenburgh Library Guild needs you!

Have you got fundraising skills or really have a desire to help locally?  The Greenburgh Public Library is a vital community asset, providing opportunities for learning, services, and cultural enrichment for all members of the Greenburgh area. Meeting the ever-changing community needs for Library services requires raising private support to supplement the critical operating support provided by the Town of Greenburgh.  This year is a challenging one and we need your help - you can make a major difference!

To express your interest, please send a short email and 1-2 page bio or resume to the attention of Silvana Malpelli, President at glguild@greenburghlibrary.org.  We look forward to hearing from you!

THANK YOU HARTSDALE ROTARY CLUB FOR HELPING GREENBURGH FAMILIES DURING THANKSGIVING

Andrea Stuart-Cousins, who represents District 35 in the NY State Senate, while also serving as the Majority Leader, joined with the Town of Greenburgh’s Department of Community Resources (DCR) and the Hartsdale Greenburgh Rotary to distribute Thanksgiving baskets to Greenburgh families.

Every Thursday, volunteers, the Rotary, and department staff assemble at the Theodore D. Young Community Center (TDYCCD) to distribute food and personal items to Greenburgh seniors and families, an effort that has grown and become more necessary during the pandemic.  Every year on Thanksgiving, DCR/TDYCC and the Rotary add extra special holiday boxes to the donations, which include Turkeys and other food used to celebrate the holiday.

‘We are proud and grateful to be a partner with the Community Center on this program, especially during the holidays,’ said Aaron Soury, President of the Hartsdale Greenburgh Rotary.  ‘It was especially meaningful for us to work with the Senator on the project this year.’

As a part of Rotary International, the Hartsdale Greenburgh Rotary is a service organization for the town, the region, the county and the wider world.  Local efforts include literacy, hunger and local school support projects, including a Student of the Month Award.  As a part of Rotary International, the Club’s world-wide mission is to promote peace through understanding and friendship.  Some of Rotary’s International Activities include Polio Plus, the attempt to eradicate Polio from the planet; Rotaplast, a program to correct juvenile cleft palates; Gift of Life, a program to correct heart defects in children; and Water For the World, a program which brings clean water to communities all over the world who lack this basic resource.
