The Greenburgh Public Works Department tries to save taxpayers money by doing work in house. We have a repair shop that repairs police, DPW and other town vehicles year round.
According to Richard Fon, Superintendent of Public Works the below picture is of Sanitation S-3 it is one of our satellite trucks these trucks assist our Mack packers in areas where the bigger trucks can’t easily get to.
This truck is a 2008 Ford and as you can see from the before picture it sees a lot of use.
Thanks to Lionel Minott, our welder and Joe Anunziato, our body mechanic the truck was repaired in house and also got a full mechanical overhaul. We spent about $500 in parts for the repairs. The rest was in house labor. My guess is that many local governments would have auctioned off the truck --instead of reusing it, costing taxpayers dollars.
Most of our employees take great pride in their work. We appreciate their dedication, creativity, hard work and passion for public service and thank them for trying to give you value for your tax dollars. These photos are just one example -out of many!
