the Elmsford Little League completed their season. They used localive TV so family and friends could watch the games at home. They took precautions to make everyone safe. No COVID cases! And the children had fun
The Elmsford Little League had a great season - and they worked very hard to keep children, their family and friends safe. One impressive initiative they took was using localive TV. All games were live and can be played back anytime on smart devices or computer so parents, grandparents and other family members could watch the games at home.
A big thank you to the hard working coaches, volunteers who worked hard to provide the Little League players with some fun during the pandemic.
Supervisor Feiner, Elmsford Little League completed our 2020 baseball and softball season recently after playing over 300 games. When Westchester County (Hudson Valley) entered phase four of the reopening plan the league hit the ground running. The board knew this was not just about baseball and softball, but more for the children's psychological well being. For most of the players this was the first social interaction with other children they would have since mid March.Through the extraordinary efforts of the Board of Directors, coaches and parents, we were able to do this with not one single case of Covid interrupting the season. We took unprecedented measures to ensure the safety of all the players, coaches and spectators. The league was showcased on NY news outlets and was the model for other leagues around the nation in thier start up.What we are most proud of is the fact that we started prior to Major League Baseball starting their season, we finished after Major League Baseball concluded their season, and unlike the major leagues, we did not have one case of covid interrupt our season. The numerous emails we received this year from parents all had the same message, each one thanked the league for allowing for some normalcy for the over 400 children that played this year. Normalcy when they needed it the most.A special thank you to Gerry Byrnen and the Parks and Recreation Department for allowing us to utilize Rumbrook for so many games. Without Rumbrook, we could not have had such a successful season. On behalf of the 700 Greenburgh households that make up the Elmsford Little League family, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the town for all their support in making this season such a success for the children.Respectfully.Robert GramagliaPresident
