[ARCHIVED] Con Ed to repave portion of W Hartsdale Ave that they tore up-- it takes too long for restoration

Con Ed should notify communities of long term underground gas work so we won't repave road only to have the same road torn up a short time later (it's a waste of money. And, W Hartsdale Ave is unsafe.

Con Ed to repave portion of West Hartsdale Ave that they cut up this summer for gas work - work to take place next week.  Many residents have complained to me : this NYS owned road road is now flat out dangerous. Some drivers circumvent the area by going into the oncoming traffic lane.   Very upsetting how long it took Con Ed to repave a portion of a road that they made dangerous.  They should not be allowed to leave roads they tear up in bad condition.

Another complaint - Con Ed should notify communities of their long term underground gas work so we won't repave the road only to have the road torn up. They are currently digging up portions of East Hartsdale Ave - a road that was recently repaved, with no potholes. Had Con Ed told us that they were planning to dig up the road a few years ago we would have repaved another road in town that needed the work. It's expensive to repave roads. Makes no sense for localities to repave a road and then a short time later for the road to have to be repaved again. Taxpayers are paying for road repaving on the same road  twice: by the municipality and by Con Ed.

Check out some streets in Ardsley or Dobbs Ferry (Ashford Ave and side roads). Same problems.
