Digital Arts Experience hosting a Halloween event for Student Advocacy--looking for gently used technology including laptops, tablets to support students
The Digital Arts Experience, in partnership with Student Advocacy, is hosting a day of Halloween family fun that supports a good cause! We'll have all kinds of spooky, socially distanced activities including Haloween themed Minecraft, Jack-o-Lantern design using our laser cutter (Jack-o-Lanterns will be laser cut from wood, not real pumpkins!), Halloween movies, and more! Throughout the week prior to and during the event, we are collecting gently used technology, including laptops, tablets, and anything else that you aren't using. Any working technology will be donated to support students in need and any non-working technology will be recycled. All profits from the event will be donated to Student Advocacy.
With most students tuning into zoom for their schooling, those that don't have access to technology are not getting the education that they need and deserve. We feel very strongly about every student's right to get a quality education, and this digital divide is doing such a disservice to the youth of our community. Student Advocacy is an organization focused on providing the kids & teens of our community with the excellent education that every child deserves. By collecting unused technology and providing it to kids in need plus the profit from our Halloween event going to Student Advocacy, The Digital Arts Experience hopes to do our part in decreasing the digital divide and allowing our community's underserved students to get the education they deserve.
