A 10th grader at Hastings HS highlights his passion for birding - an activity that Greenburgh residents may enjoy
Julien Amsellem is a 10th grader in Hastings High School. He has a passion for birding and was my guest on a recent WVOX radio program. Julien was interested in birding for many years. Before I interviewed him I never thought about the activity. Now, whenever I see a bird I think of the interview I had with Julien. And want to learn more about the bird. Julien has a great future ahead of him if he chooses to consider a field dealing with the environment or nature.
During COVID 19 more and more people are taking up birding, appreciating the different bird species. They are purchasing binoculars, checking birding apps and enjoying the ability to try to identify birds. The world of birds is interesting--it gets one out of the house while COVID restrictions are continuing. It’s a front row seat to a fantastic activity --learn how birds are migrating, building nests, laying eggs.
So, if you are upset that the summer is coming to an end -and want to think of something fun, interesting to do ---consider birding.
