Very pleased that Postal Service is finally beginning to address problems at the Postal Service. I hope that the Congress will give the postal service their attention and the resources they need not only before the election but also after
Thrilled that Congress is finally addressing postal service--hope service will finally improve. GREENBURGH HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT POOR POSTAL SERVICE FOR A DECADE Congress needs to provide Postal Service with resources after 2020 election --not only before... THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS --LINKS TO SOME BELOW, AND ARTICLES FROM 2014, 2015, etc... I am thrilled that The House of Representatives will be back in session this week to confront President Donald Trump’s attempts to undermine the US Postal Service. Democrats in the House are upset that the President is using the COVID crisis to force service cutbacks at USPS ahead of November 3rd. I have asked for Congressional hearings on the postal service for close to 10 years. Many constituents of mine have complained of lack of service-mail not delivered on certain days, getting mail that was supposed to go to someone else, not getting prescription drugs, reports of mail being thrown in the garbage, post offices not having the staff needed. A copy of the patch article below from 2014 includes many complaints from residents. Other links to previous articles appear below. During the past decade I have forwarded thousands of complaints from residents to members of Congress, the Postmaster General, postal service authorities and the White House. Although President Trump has intentionally hurt the Postal Service (for many months there were five vacancies on the nine member Board of Governors of the Postal Service, as an example) - the problems with the Postal Service began prior to the Trump Presidency. It’s my hope that Democrats and Republicans in Congress will provide the Postal Services with the resources they need so they can operate efficiently. One of the problems with the Postal Service is that they have replaced full time carriers who residents felt were responsive to the community with part timer’s who (in Greenburgh) sometimes don’t show up for work. We’ve had complaints in recent years of residents not receiving mail for days at a time. PAUL FEINER Greenburgh Town Supervisor
