INSTALLATION OF CONCRETE BARRIERS TO ALLOW FOR MORE SEATING THAT IS SAFE
As a quick update, with the assistance of Police and DPW, and the HPPD, the town of Greenburgh coordinated the installation of several concrete-barrier enclosed dining areas on the Avenue.
Restaurants that have or will soon have additional seating as a result of the enclosures include:
· Bosphorus
· Copper Kettle Café
· Hartsdale House of Pizza
· Vega
· Granita
· Masala Kraft Café
Others on the Avenue have sidewalk seating or even seating to the rear of the building (Enrico’s). We are presently coordinating with Hunan Village, who presently has on-sidewalk seating.
Design input from Chief Ryan and Victor have led to the safest option that can be offered for this type temporary seating.
Big thanks to Chuck Pateman of public works and crew for the heavy lifting and constant coordination (in the midst of massive storm cleanup work) and to Commissioner of Planning Garrett Duquesne and the restaurateurs. Some of the restaurants are trying to come up with some decorations to make the barriers look more attractive.
We need to help our local merchants survive during the COVID 19 era. Please give all local businesses your support.
