As of 10:30 pm 2,232 customers without power- down from 5,400 on Tuesday (unincorporated Greenburgh). Con Ed unfortunately keeps sending people inaccurate and wrong info.
Good progress today re: Con Ed restoration. There are 2,232 customers without power in unincorporated Greenburgh. According to the Greenburgh police Con Ed estimates that power to be restored by August 10, at 11:00 PM. This morning the number was 3,100 without power. The original number on Tuesday was 5,400 customers out of 19,000+ customers in Greenburgh. Progress --finally!
The bad news-- Con Ed is failing to provide residents with accurate information. My neighbors and I have been out of power since Tuesday. Early this week we heard that service would be restored Sunday. Then, Tuesday. Today we received a text that we would get power back Monday evening. And, later in the evening we got another text saying Wednesday. Some residents in the complex I live in had power- lost the power two days later (not storm related). Con Ed did not advise why they shut off the power and when power would be restored. Received similar complaints from residents of Hartsdale--they had power after the storm and lost the power Thursday or Friday. Why? When will power be back on? Was power intentionally shut off so that Con Ed could make repairs elsewhere.
Some people received text messages that power would be back on Tuesday and the power was restored yesterday! Others who had power restored are told that they won’t have power till next week. I can’t figure out how a major company can make so many mistakes.
If Con Ed would provide everyone with accurate info there would be less anxiety and stress among residents and people could make plans. Utility customers deserve accurate information.
