The Greenburgh School district was featured on CNN this past weekend (see link) planning for the re-opening of the school. But, the future is uncertain. The school district is seen taking temperature checks of teachers and school administrators, disinfecting, closely monitoring rooms and planning for the future. As Dr. Tahira Chase points out nothing is certain. The district, like many schools, is developing multiple plans. Options include half day of classes, half day on line. The school district is also working to develop more online classes, if needed.
I know that parents in every school district are concerned about their child’s education and frustrated by the lack of certainty. Because COVID-19 is so deadly it’s important that you be reassured that the school districts around town are prioritizing the health and safety of your child. The premature re-openings around the nation have resulted in many additional positive cases and deaths and we don’t want that to happen here in NY.
