There have been bear sightings in Greenburgh and around the area. Tonight at 7 PM the Town Board will hear from the NYS DEC --their wildlife biologist, regional wildlife manager and big game head biologist. Meeting will be streamed live on the twn website
In recent weeks many people have reported bear sightings in southern Westchester. Bears have been seen in Hastings, Scarsdale, Greenburgh, the White Plains City Center, near playgrounds and at country clubs among other locations.
Some residents have expressed concern about the bears. Tonight -at 7 PM- the Greenburgh Town Board will hear from Emily Carrollo, a wildlife biologist with the NYS DEC. She has invited a big game head biologist for the state and their regional wildlife manager to join her.
The Town Board meeting will be streamed live on the town website: www.greenburghny.com. Meetings are also archived on the town website. We will create a you tube video of the meeting and will share the information in the future - as more and more bear sightings are reported.
Those who have questions can e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com before the meeting. If you’d like an invitation to the zoom meeting please advise.
