Some good news about our local economy: A new business is opening up on E Hartsdale Ave. Hydrogen Fitness expects to open their doors on July 7 provided our region is allowed to start  phase 4.  The Fitness center offers a special running until July 7 when the $99 initiation fee is brought down to $9.99 for annual contract plans.

Covid is definitely scaring some people, but the majority see the amazing measures they  are taking to keep the facility as safe and clean as humanly possible and are assured by that. You can see all of their proactive  measure on www.hydrogenfitness.com. Covid has caused widescale carnage in the fitness industry with 24 hour fitness filing bankruptcy and rumors are swirling around the market of New York Sports Clubs following in the same path. They hope to emerge as a clear leader in both fitness offerings and cleanliness in the lower Westchester area. They selected East Hartsdale ave for a variety of reasons: the proximity to Metro North for commuters to get an early morning or evening workout in on the way to or way back from work, the small town feel within a dense area, as well as the immediate need for a fitness offering in the area that has no other large scale gym within an 8 minute drive in any direction.

Here is a list of all they have done:

– NanoSeptic Hydrophobic self-cleaning door wraps on all door handles

– Social distancing (or screens) of 6 feet between machines and between members

– Touchless check-in

– Touchless sinks, toilets, sanitizers, soaps & paper towel dispensers

– Staff will wear masks and gloves at all times

– Only 50% of capacity will be used in the facility and classes

– Touchless forehead thermometers for members and staff in order to enter. Anyone with a temperature over 100.4°F will not be allowed in

– Sneeze guards at the front desk

– Extra sanitizer stations, facemasks, gloves, and antibacterial soap available

– Extra cleaning hours, and common surfaces will be cleaned multiple times per day

– Sanitizing fogger deployed multiple times per day

– 7 hospital-grade HEPA filters that eliminate 99.97% of bacteria, viruses, and allergens
