IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE FOOD TO GRACE CHURCH’S FOOD PANTRY FOR THE HUNGRY - CALL 646-957-7789, PHONE  OF ONE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL PICK FOOD  UP AND DROP IT OFF AT CHURCH

IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF RESIDENTS WOULD SPEAK TO NEIGHBORS - WE CAN HAVE PICK UP POINTS ON DIFFERENT STREETS

STEVE FRANCIOSA WILL MAKE SURE THAT SOCIAL DISTANCING IS PRACTICED DURING PICK UP---WE NEED TO HELP THOSE WHO HAVE FALLEN ON HARD TIMES

We have heard that donations of food  are down because of the quarantine. People, are not going out.  We are looking for residents to volunteer to become “block drop off points” where our neighbors can bring boxed, bagged, and canned food items thus creating mini collection points. These volunteers can then call for pickup by dialing 646 957-7789. One of our neighbors, Steve Franciosa will come by to collect the donations.

In order to maintain social distancing and practice the collection in a safe way, Steve will arrive with a pick up truck with boxes in the back of the truck. The volunteer can then walk over to the truck and place the items in the rear-bed of the truck  inside a box.  There will be no contact and a safe distances can  be maintained.  Once the boxes in the back of the truck are full the donations will be driven over to Grace Church and dropped off to be distributed to people and families who have fallen on hard times.   We are looking to have our first collections this Saturday between 10AM and 2 PM and may expand that time frame if necessary.

We expect that for quite some time this may be a  method that meets the needs of our community both in terms of helping, donating and giving to those in need.

Please let us know if you can become a collection point on your block. Thank you
