NYS TO REPAVE HILLSIDE AVE THIS WEEK!!! Road owned by NYS is in horrible condition
Marcia Brewster is a member of the Greenburgh Water District Advisory Committee. But she does much more. She is Vice President and Program Chair of the UNA-USA and on their National Council (United Nations Association- USA). She was recently featured in this story that ran national. See link below: It mentions Marcia’s involvement with our water district advisory committee. Greenburgh is so fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who help make our community a great place. Thanks, Marcia for all you do.

The NYS DOT is scheduling the paving of Hillside Avenue from Tarrytown Road to Virginia Road from Sunday, April 19 through Thursday April 23. Work is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM and continue through the night until 6:00 AM. NYS promised to repave this state road two years ago. There were some delays - the bid was awarded to the contractor late in the 2018 season - preventing them to start the work in 2018. And the contractor who was awarded the bid had financial problems in 2019 so the contractor had to be awarded. This is very good news for the town. Many NYS owned roads are in bad shape.
NYS kept their commitment to repave Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley. We will continue to press the state to maintain roads that they own.
Special thanks to Greenburgh student interns in 2018 who organized a successful lobbying effort to persuade NYS DOT to repave roads that they own. They met with regional officials at the NYS DOT, with our State Legislators, organized petition drives, letter writing campaigns and they were effective.
