[ARCHIVED] NYS making unemployment insurance applications easier--golf ranges to close

NYS will make applying for unemployment insurance easier. Apply online. NYS closing golf courses. Golf Range, public golf courses in Westchester will be impacted.

After 7 PM tonight the NYS Department of Labor’s online application for  unemployment insurance will be relaunched in a more streamlined form. If you are applying for unemployment insurance, and you fill out the entire application, you will not need to follow up with a phone call. If you do not fill out the entire application, going forward, the Department will call you - you do not have to call them - within 72 hours to follow up. The system has been overwhelmed by more than 800,000 applications for unemployment insurance in the past three weeks and they are working to streamline the system. Benefits will apply retroactively, and are not dependent on the date of successful application.

New York State closes golf courses, marinas and boat launches

In the update to businesses deemed "essential" under the Governor’s Executive Order, golf courses, as well as marinas and boat launches for recreational vessels are no longer deemed essential and therefore must close. The Golf Range on Dobbs Ferry Road and Westchester County public golf courses will be impacted by this directive.
