STATE CHANGES ISOLATION PROTOCOL
The State changed the isolation protocol. People may end isolation if they have met all THREE of the following criteria: It has been at least 7 days since first experiencing symptoms; they have had no fever for at least 72 hours without taking fever-reducing medication (such as Tylenol) AND any shortness of breath/coughing/difficulty breathing has improved. You can find FAQ on our website here: https://health.westchestergov.com/news/alerts
COUNTY CENTER WILL BE USED FOR NON COVID 19 PATIENTS
The County Center is under re-construction in order to convert it to a hospital facility for non-COVID-19 patients. The interior and the west parking lot will be set up to accommodate approximately 100 patients. We will provide more details over the next couple of weeks.
emergency
The County Executive reiterated his belief that parks should remain open BUT if people consistently violate the social distancing policy, he will shut them down selectively. I continue to believe that public golf courses should be closed --feel that there are too many exceptions to the directives -creating mixed messages. I also believe that pharmacies, supermarkets, big box stores should require masks, gloves, restrict number of people who can shop inside. I think temperature of employees should be taken before they start their work day. They interact with so many people. I worry that they could be getting more people infected.
