CORONOVIRUS SUGGESTION- VIDEO TELEMEDICINE APPOINTMENTS WITH DOCTORS
The coronavirus virus has changed the way sick patients are being asked to deal with illnesses. Those who have the colds/coughs have been encouraged to stay at home if they have colds or coughs and not visit doctors or emergency rooms. The reason: to reduce the possibility of others getting infected.
Some Doctors around the nation are starting to see patients video telemedicine. Although video conferences with doctors is probably not as good as a personal visit, it’s better than nothing. And, the Doctors, nurses, staff at the hospitals, doctors offices won’t get infected. Other patients also won’t be exposed to the medical issues the person has. If someone has a cold, cough and if the Doctor can see them visually and talk with them – the patient might be less stressed.
If you know of any Doctors/hospitals in the area that are offering video telemedicine services for people who have colds, coughs, the flu and who worry about coronavirus, please advise. I will share the info with residents who contact me. My e mail is pfeiner@greenburghny.com. I am writing to area hospitals and medical professionals suggesting this initiative. People are stressed. If they can’t see a Doctor in person and if they don’t feel good, many people don’t want to wait around for two days. This concept will ease anxiety levels.
