[ARCHIVED] GREENBURGH ADDS FOOD SCRAP DROP OFF LOCATION- GREENBURGH TOWN HALL

The town of Greenburgh has added a new drop off location for food scrap recycling. Residents can now drop off their food recycling waste at Greenburgh Town Hall, 177 Hillside Ave or at AF Veteran Park.. The drop off is at the parking lot at Town Hall.

The Town of Greenburgh has added a new drop off location for food scrap recycling for the convenience of residents who reside in the Fairview/northern section of Greenburgh. Residents can now drop off their food recycling waste at Greenburgh Town Hall, 177 Hillside Ave in addition to AF Veteran par which is located off of Heatherdell Road in Ardsley. The drop off location is at the parking lot -near the entrance to Town Hall. Over a year ago we inaugurated the food scrap recycling at AF Veteran Park. We received a grant from NYS last year to purchase a food scrap recycling truck  and expect to start curbside pickup late this year or early next year (depending on when the truck arrives). Greenburgh was one of the first communities in Westchester to promote food scrap recycling. It’s been a big success. The Greenburgh Nature Center has partnered with the town in trying to educate residents of the importance of not throwing their food recycling in the garbage.

You can purchase food scrap recycling kits at AF Veteran park or at the Greenburgh Nature Center. We hope to begin selling recycling kits at Town Hall sometime this spring.
