[ARCHIVED] From the Mayor of Yonkers office

Sprain Lake repairs (an update)--why sprain Lake work will continue for next few months

Received the following from the Mayor of  Yonkers office…  Have been getting more e mails from concerned residents about why the lake water levels are so low. PAUL FEINER

The mayor asked me to follow up on your letter of dated Jan 13th regarding Sprain Lake.   To answer your questions.   The work was required by DEC to repair and maintain the gates and the spillways.  It is approximately a $2 million dollar repair.   It should take about 3-4 months to complete.   The only wildlife observed there are fish and there will be sufficient water kept in there for their needs.     If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best

Michael
