the results --do you get daily mail, how often do you get mail that should have gone to someone else, etc..
In recent months I have continued to receive daily complaints about the postal service from residents who live all over the town of Greenburgh. Checks and bills that people expected to receive not arriving. Not getting prescription drugs. Mail not being delivered on certain days. And getting mail that should have gone to someone else.
I conducted a survey monkey questionnaire –which I posted on the town website and on social media. 417 people responded. Some residents have not experienced problems with the postal service. Others have. I believe that the problems and unreliable service deserve the attention of postal service officials and members of Congress. And, encourage Congressional hearings to be scheduled to address the many problems some residents have been experiencing.
At the bottom of this posting I am sharing 4 letters I recently received from residents. I deleted their names and addresses. For those residents who are experiencing problems with the postal service it’s a major problem.
These are the results.

Mr. Feiner, I live on __ and have had so many problems in the past with mail delivery. About a month ago I asked one of the people delivering the mail if he was going to be my permanent mail person. He said that he was just temporary and that this area only had temps as no one wants this area because it is the most difficult as they have both this side of Central Avenue and the other side as well as all of the hills. Occasionally we do not get mail but what has happened for the second time is that the person probably was placing the mail in my mailbox but instead dropped it behind the bush. You would think that he or she would have just picked it up and put it into the box but that didn’t happen.
My next door neighbor is 96 years old and lives in a colonial. For the second time her mail was left on the third step from the top and she had to come down to get it. She is very frail and this is a dangerous and unnecessary situation for her to have to come down the steps when her mailbox is right next to her door.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I was wondering if you can help me with a “lost” package. The package below was supposed to be delivered to my address on December 7th but it’s still “moving within the USPS network” (I don’t even know what this means – If in White Plains why isn’t being delivered?).
Please let me know if you can help locate it.
Thank you,
John

Paul- Just wanted to let you know that I had a check mailed from Stamford, Ct. a week ago and never received it. I called the post office this morning to speak to my carrier. Needless to say, they do not answer the phone. I finally got through and they said to call back in ten minutes. When I called back, again they dd not answer. After trying several times, I finally got through again. There is really no excuse for such poor service. Also, when I went in to buy stamps, there was a line and only one person working behind the desk. My regular mailman is great, just the post office is a total disaster.
Thanks,
L

Hi
I was just going to send another note to Paul, and forgot about your e-mail. My apologies. Please find attached USPS notification from 12/19. Original letter was mailed and post marked on 11/23 , a month transit for this mail is unacceptable as Harrison is only a few miles from Hartsdale. There was a 500.00 bank check enclosed and it caused us to wait over a month for these funds. FYI we have been having tons of problems with mail forwarding as we moved from White Plains to Hartsdale in July. I will get mail several months late, and still receive mail from previous owners of our new house in Hartsdale almost daily. The previous owners have had to come to our house atleast 5 times over the last several months, as we just pool their mail until they are able to come. We are also now receiving mail for someone with last name RABINOWITZ ?????? They have assured me they did mail forwarding on your website as well. it is truly shocking how poor the performance at USPS is , it’s not any better in NYC either. What more can any of us do to get mail out in a timely fashion ?
Thanks for looking into and looking forward to your feedback
