[ARCHIVED] DIAL DEMOCRACY--YOU CAN NOW PARTICIPATE BY PHONE AT ALL TOWN BOARD MEETINGS

YOU CAN PARTICIPATE BY PHONE AT ALL TOWN BOARD MEETINGS---DIAL DEMOCRACY!

DIAL DEMOCRACY -- If you cannot attend a Town Board meeting and want to speak with the Town Board during a Board meeting you can now participate by phone! The Town Board will hear from up to 4 residents at each Town Board meeting at the conclusion of the public comment period. To participate in dial democracy you must make the request to participate at a Town Board meeting by phone by Tuesday at 5 PM before the Wednesday Town Board meeting. Contact the Town Clerk at 989 1500 ext 5 or e mail townclerk@greenburghny.com . We will place the names of the participants on each agenda in advance of the meeting. Dial democracy participants will have up to 3 minutes per phone call at the end of the first public comment portion of each meeting. We will call those who ask to participate in the meeting by phone so it’s important to provide us with the phone number you want to be reached at. Dial democracy participants will be contacted at the conclusion of the public comment portion of the meeting – after everyone who attended the meeting spoke. The Town Board meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of each month beginning at 7:30 PM.

We appreciate the involvement of citizens who take the time to provide us with your thoughts about town government and reflect on your comments and suggestions. The decision making processes of government should be a partnership with the community and town officials. Special thanks to Councilwoman Gina Jackson, Diana Juettner, Councilman Francis Sheehan and Ken Jones for their support of this open government initiative and to Town Clerk Judith Beville who will be overseeing the implementation of dial democracy.

The next Town Board meeting is Wednesday January 22nd, 2020.
