The Planning Board will be conducting a noticed site visit at the site of the former Maplewood Swim Club related to a proposal involving the construction of a new 106,000 sq. ft., 115-unit, 137-bed assisted living facility and related features. The proposal includes the demolition of the existing former swim club and its related features. The property consists of approximately 386,377.20 sq. ft. and is situated on the south side of West Hartsdale Avenue, at the intersection of Maplewood Road. The property is located in the R-20 One-Family Residence District and is designated on the tax map of the Town of Greenburgh as Parcel ID: 8.200-150-7. The project requires special permit and site plan approval from the Town Board (with Planning Board referrals), a Planning Board steep slope permit, and an area variance (Zoning Board of Appeals). TOWN HALL PRESENTATION AND SITE VISIT RELATED TO AN ASSISTED LIVING/INDEPENDENT SENIOR LIVING PROPOSAL AT METROPOLIS COUNTRY CLUB – Saturday, January 18TH at 1:00PM (Town Hall Auditorium)
Brightview Senior Living presently operates a successful assisted living facility in the Town of Greenburgh on Old White Plains Road, at the intersection of Benedict Avenue and Rt. 119 in the Tarrytown portion of the Town. Brightview now seeks to partner with the Metropolis Country Club and proposes a second facility in the Town on lands that presently form the entryway to the golf club. This proposed 160-unit facility would be located on Dobbs Ferry Road and consist of one building that would house a combination of assisted living facility and independent senior living units. The golf course would remain. The applicant will make a presentation of their proposal to the Town Board and to the community on Saturday January 18th at 1 PM at the Greenburgh Town Hall auditorium. The indoor meeting will be followed by a site visit to the Metropolis Country Club site. This process is part of an ongoing zoning petition to create a new use (Continuum of Care Facility) and CCF Floating Zone District enabling the combination of assisted living facility and independent senior living units in a single building.
