creating a disabled advisory committee
Metro North made a presentation at our last Town Board work session meeting –and discussed their plans to install an elevator at the Hartsdale train station.
A link to the you tube video is below. We will continue to provide the community with input and will be reaching out to businesses and apartments that could be impacted by the construction in the coming weeks/months.
Please watch the video and provide me with the benefit of your thoughts since we want to make the implementation as stress free as possible for businesses, commuters and residents.
Metro North plans to award construction bid during the 2nd quarter of 2020. Construction will take 20 months and be completed the end of the 4th quarter of 2021.
CREATING A DISABLED ADVISORY COMMITTEE—ARE YOU INTERESTED?
Are you a person with a disability or a family member of someone with a disability? Do you feel that people with disabilities face issues with healthcare, the environment, voting accessibility, employment, access to public spaces, and more? The Town of Greenburgh is considering reactivating it’s Disability Advisory Committee; a public body which could advise the town government on these topics. This project will start with informal meetings to create suggested bylaws and areas of focus which will be facilitated by Amit Patel. Amit was a student intern for the town in 2017 and 2018 and currently works as a Health Advocate at Westchester Disabled On The Move. It is important for the disability community to have representation so that public officials can hear its concerns and solutions. To learn more about how to get involved please contact Amit at firstname.lastname@example.org.
