Good news: Knollwood Road (a state owned road) will be repaved next year

Some good news--Knollwood will be repaved next year

Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins office shared some good news --Knollwood Road, which is a NYS owned road, will be repaved next spring! This is probably one of the worst state owned roads in the entire region and the road rehabilitation is very needed.
Very pleased with this news. Many residents who live in Mayfair Acres and N Elmsford and some students who use the road to get to the Westchester Community College have complained about the terrible condition of the road for at least four or five years. The state has patched potholes and some craters but the pothole repairs haven't lasted - creating complaints and concerns. The road is in such bad shape that repaving the road will require more than just repaving--some rebuilding. Senator Cousins was able to secure funding from the state to allow DOT to repave Knollwood.   Last year the Senator helped us obtain funding to repave another state road in poor shape -- Saw Mill River Road in Elmsford.
Am very pleased with this news.   I've complained alot about this road for years. I don't want to only complain. I  also want to point out that the staff & leadership of  the NYS Department of Transportation has tried hard. to be responsive to our concerns. They have been unable to respond to every complaint about conditions of state roads in town  because of lack of funding to address all our needs. We have other roads in town that are also  in bad shape. If the state doesn't have enough money NYS DOT can't act. We will keep trying.
