CENTRAL TURF AND IRRIGATION SUPPLY OF ELMSFORD DONATING 1,000 FREE MEALS TO GREENBURGH RESIDENTS< FAMILIES, NON PROFITS ON THANKSGIVING
We’re so happy to announce that the family-owned and operated business, Central Turf and Irrigation Supply, of Elmsford is again giving back to their community in a huge way by donating Thanksgiving meals, free to any individuals, families and groups in need of a warm festive meal this holiday. For Bernardo, Filomena, & Anthony Luciano, and Camilla, Gino, Alessia, & Giulia Sorvillo, it has become a family tradition for them to have their business donate to the community.
This event is in collaboration with the Westchester Community Health Center (formerly known as Greenburgh Health Center), who is generously hosting the meal that day at their facility on 295 Knollwood Road. DeCicco & Sons fine grocers will prepare the food and donate the beverages, fruit, and desserts.
Last year this effort fed 1,000 individuals, families, and groups like food pantries and shelters from our community and beyond. This year they intend to do the same.
Individuals and families can go to the Health Center to pick up tickets on a first come first serve basis--please call patient advocate Estefania Matias at 914-686-7618 to make sure she’s there when you come by. Groups (serving the homeless, food pantries, shut-ins, seniors, etc.) who want to reserve pick-up to deliver to their own groups can reach out to Krista in my office, who is helping with logistics, firstname.lastname@example.org or 914-989-1540.
See poster attached for more info. The event is on Thurs Nov. 23 from 11:30-1:30 for eating in-house. Groups coming for pick-up can do so by appointment starting at 10:45 am.
No volunteers are needed to serve, as the Central Turf & Irrigation Supply staff has this covered. We are just looking for school groups or scout troops who want to make decorations ahead of time. Thanksgiving-themed décor will be hung around the dining room and we’d love to have holiday-themed cards to give all guests – some in English and some in Spanish. If you have interest in helping with the art, you can email or call Krista above.
Here's an interview about the event last year I did on my radio show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8BsJyxmFdo

We look forward to a second great Thanksgiving of giving back to our community!
