Earlier this year, it was brought to my attention that there was interest in developing a laundromat at 228 E Hartsdale Avenue, which is the space of the former Peachwave Froyo shop. The laundromat use required an update to the Zoning Ordinance. After outreach to the public I alerted the potential business owner of the significant negative feedback received. The laundromat use and change of zoning was not pursued.
I am pleased to note that I recently received an update from the site owner’s representative, that a lease is signed with retailer Mobility City. This would be Mobility City’s first location in NYS and I believe it will be a great fit for East Hartsdale Avenue. The website link that follows provides a good overview of the services. Mobility City serves people with disabilities improve their mobility. Whether one is looking for a wheelchair or stair lift, rent a mobility scooter or have mobility equipment repairs or sanitized, their technicians are available. They also have batttery and charger replacements.
This will be a fantastic new addition to E Hartsdale Ave ---and is a greatly needed business that will serve a population looking for a business like this in town. I am thrilled with the news.

This business is expected to move into the space early 2024. I am enthusiastic about the uptick in new businesses filling vacancies throughout the Town. If you know of a vacancy in the Town please send me an email with its location and I will coordinate its update on the Town’s Economic Development site: www.greenburghedo.com. Residents seeking employment opportunities are also encouraged to visit this site and click the ‘Search Available Jobs’ link
