Town Board to ask permission from Albany to install speed cameras

The Town is actively implementing three Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grants, one of which (Hillside Avenue sidewalk) is under construction. The other two TAP grants are in earlier design engineering stages and as a part of the implementation of these grants the Town will be hosting informational outreach meetings with the public. These meetings will include a presentation from the respective Engineering Consultant designing the project and the meeting will provide an opportunity for public comments and questions. Anyone interested in attending these meetings is welcome. Below please find a brief description of the two outreach meetings along with information on attending.

Dobbs Ferry Road Sidewalk – This outreach meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th at 6:00pm and will be held via Zoom video conference. Anyone wishing to join this meeting should send an email to planning@greenburghny.com with Dobbs Ferry Road Sidewalk meeting Link Request in the email subject line. If needed, one can also call 914-989-1532. A description of the project is as follows: the design and construction of a sidewalk on the south side of Dobbs Ferry Road from Sciortino Place to Rt. 119 (approximately 3,000 linear ft.).

East/West Hartsdale Avenue Transportation Safety Improvements - This outreach meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th at 7:00pm and will be held in the Town Hall Auditorium and hybrid, via Zoom video conference. Anyone wishing to join this meeting via Zoom video conference should send an email to planning@greenburghny.com with EHA/WHA Transportation Safety meeting Link Request in the email subject line. The Town Board will also be seeking permission from Albany to install speed camera's on E Hartsdale Ave and on other streets to control speeding.  A home rule message will be sent to Albany seeking permission.

Bill Sicari of the Hartsdale Parking District advised the Town Board  last night that the HPPD decided to dedicate our Site A garage (behind Rite Aid) the Stephanie Kavourias Memorial Garage in  honor and in memory of Stephanie who lost her life in a fatal accident recently. The appropriate signage for the memorial will be worked out and coordinated with the Kavourias family.
