[ARCHIVED] UP TO $50,000 in grants are available to homeowners who suffered flood damage

NY State has announced a grant for residents who suffered losses during floods. Homeowners can receive up to $50,000. I am trying to reach out to residents who I know experienced flooding. But, if I miss some - and if you or someone you know qualifies, please take advantage of this opportunity.

PAUL FEINERGreenburgh Town Supervisor

Following significant housing damage caused by flooding in Clinton, Dutchess, Essex, Hamilton, Ontario, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester counties, HCR is making up to $3 Million in Affordable Housing Corporation’s (AHC) Affordable Home Ownership Development Program (“AHODP” or “Program”) funding available to non-profit partners which will assist homeowners in the impacted communities. The Program seeks to offer emergency home repair assistance to impacted homeowners for whom FEMA Individual Assistance or other disaster recovery assistance is unavailable.

How to Apply

AHC Flood Assistance Program applications will open on Friday, August 11th 2023.
Please check back for a complete list of not-for-profit program providers by county.

Eligible Homeowners

Funds allocated under this Program will be limited to emergency housing repairs necessary to make the home safe, sanitary and functional. Funds may only be used to address damage that occurred as a direct result of flooding. Applicant awards under this program will be based on scope of work approved by a program administrator, but in no event will the total grant award to any single applicant exceed $50,000, per AHC statute.
