Drs. Mamie and Kenneth Clarks research played a critical role in the Brown Vs. Board SUpreme Court decision that desegregated our nation's public schools
Drs. Mamie and Kenneth Clark were Black psychologists who lived in Westchester (Hastings on Hudson) for decades. They are best known for their “doll tests” research. The "doll tests" results were used as critical exhibits in the Brown v. Board Supreme Court decision that desegregated our nation’s public schools. Given the upcoming 70th anniversary of this groundbreaking decision and the lack of local recognition for the Clark's important contributions to our nation, the Hastings Historical Society has begun a commemoration project.
