Join us for a Pride flag raising ceremony at Greenburgh Town Hall at 7:15 PM on Wednesday, June 28th.
We will be celebrating all the successful progress the LGBTQ+ communities have made in Greenburgh toward a goal of inclusion, representation, and equity. We will commemorate the struggle to achieve a safer world for the LGBTQ+ community, amidst historic levels of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and hate spreading across the United State. We have a vision to make Greenburgh a beacon of hope, a community of love, and a role model to neighboring towns and counties on how a community can become unified to drive a mission of love, togetherness, and support.
What does Pride mean for Greenburgh? Pride means being ourselves authentically and celebrating ourselves for who we are. Pride means loving others freely and accepting love freely. Pride means success despite overwhelming obstacles. Pride means finding the significance of family, chosen or of origin. Pride means sharing our vulnerability and inner creativity. Pride means teaching the next generation how to live openly and with values of acceptance and tolerance. Pride is an active practice, a goal to strive for, each day of the year. Pride takes work to achieve, but once we are there, there is nothing more powerful.
