Thinking about snow in May? Town Bd honored snow angels leadership on Wed

Thank you to the student leaders who organize our snow angels program for seniors and the disabled

It's a nice warm sunny day in Greenburgh. At the last Greenburgh town Board meeting members of the Town Board spent a few minutes thinking about SNOW!

We don't think it's going to snow this summer  (hopefully climate change won't surprise us) but we have to start thinking about snow. The Board honored our outgoing leader of the Greenburgh snow angels, Zachary Weinhouse of Ardsley who served as snow angel coordinator for the town during the winter of 2022/23. Zachary will be graduating Ardsley High School next month.  And, unlike  what is happening in the series SUCCESSION - Zachary has arranged for a non controversial transfer of leadership. The new snow angel leadership team consists of Noah Seifer, Alex Shapiro, Jon Guerrero and Joey Belarge.  We also recognized Liam Mantini who headed up our landscaping angels initiative.

THE FOLLOWING IS A TESTIMONIAL FROM A GRATEFUL RESIDENT  THIS WINTER...(I deleted her name)
Hello each of you,  I am filled with so much gratitude right now and I need to share my story with everyone.  As I sat on my couch with leg and hip pain I decided to cancel my 3:30pm doctors appointment because I knew I wasn't going to be able to shovel the snow in my driveway as I did in past years.  I then decided to get comfortable because I knew I wasn't going anywhere today.  About 1/2 hour later I heard a knock at my front door, it was three young men holding shovels.  I couldn't believe it, one of them asked if I wanted my driveway shoveled, I said sure! but I told him unfortunately I don't have any money on me, he smiled and said "no charge"  I was so surprised and grateful.  I shut the door and decided to give them my emergency $20.00,  I asked them to take it and get some hot chocolate or something with it and they pleasantly refused. When they were done, they knocked on my door again to get my approval, They did a fantastic job in about 15 minutes.
I asked them their names and they said Noah, Wesley and Joe.  These three young men were truly Snow Angels for me today.  It reminded me why I love it here in Greeenburgh.
Peace and Blessings,
