Beginning Monday, March 27th a NYS Department of Transportation contractor will begin work at the intersection of Four Corners. This project is anticipated to occur over the next three months and includes a new traffic signal, ADA-accessible curb ramps at each corner, new signage and striping. Minor traffic delays should be expected. This project is separate from the East-West Hartsdale Avenue (sidewalk/signal) improvements planned by the Town as part of the Town’s $5,000,000 grant.
Please also note that beginning the week of March 27th, a contractor of the Town will resume work at the intersection of Lawton Avenue and Central Park Avenue to complete the pedestrian-activated HAWK system. This work is anticipated to be complete in 3-4 weeks. Minor traffic delays should be expected for this project as well.
Coupled with the soon to be complete North Washington Avenue sidewalk, these projects will contribute significantly towards enhancing safety and making the Town more pedestrian-friendly.
