The Greenburgh Town Board will meet with the Water District Advisory Board this Monday at 6 PM
The Greenburgh Town Board had a public hearing on Wednesday evening December 14th to consider a rate increase of 7% for those served by Consolidated Water District #1 (Greenburgh water). The funding would be used to operate and maintain the water districts operations. The water district and our consultants believe that a rate hike is needed to enable the water department to meet current and future needs for water purchases, continued operations and future capital improvements.. The Greenburgh Town Board Board will be meeting with the Water District Advisory Board on Monday evening at 6 PM at Town Hall to further review the proposed rate increases. The meeting is open to the public. The Water District Advisory Board had recommended a 3% increase - which the town DPW department feels would reduce the cash reserves and result in sudden or drastic rate increases in future years rather than predictability. We have invited the Water District Board to our meeting to hear their thoughts. A link to the Town Board presentation at our public hearing this past Wednesday evening is below.
