The Theodore Young Community Center and Fairview Fire department will be sponsoring this free class for those interested in becoming firefighters.
Many people hope to get a government job because of the pay and benefits. Most government jobs require applicants to have passed Civil Service exams. The department that is hiring must select from those who get the highest test scores. The Theodore Young Community Center, in cooperation with the Fairview Fire department, will be holding a test preparation course that is free for those interested in becoming firefighters. We will be organizing similar classes geared to other civil service exams/positions in the coming months.
Westchester County will be offering an upcoming civil service exam for the position of Firefighter. The Fairview Fire Department and the Department of Community Resources have partnered to provide the community with a FREE Firefighter Preparation Course. The course will be held at the Community Center (32 Manhattan Avenue, White Plains NY 10607) and will be taught by Fairview Fire Officers and Fairview Firefighters.
All those interested in the free prep course MUST thoroughly read the County Job Posting via the link. https://www.westchestergov.com/hr/onlineexam/PE/OC/64991.htm
Please note, although the exam is scheduled for 2/11/23; the last filing date to submit an application is Thursday December 15, 2022. If you are interested in this free prep course, please e-mail your name and phone number to Chief Howard Reiss at Chief@fairviewfire.org
We will send out the prep times and dates to only those who RSVP.
