Central Turf & Irrigation Supply, located in Elmsford, is a family business owned and operated by Bernardo Luciano. His daughter, Camila approached me a few weeks ago offering to donate 1,000 meals for the hungry on Thanksgiving. We reached out to the Greenburgh Neighborhood Health Center  and they agreed to host the lunch at the Health Center. My assistant, Krista Madsen did an amazing job organizing the lunch and dealing with the logistics of feeding 1000 people. We had a very successful Thanksgiving event today. Numerous volunteers helped out. Many hungry people smiled after receiving a delicious meal catered by DeCicco's.  We had reached out to churches, neighborhood associations, non profits during the past few weeks --wanting to make sure that the donations were being used efficiently.

We are fortunate to live in a community with  caring people businesses and residents who give back and  want to make life better for the less fortunate. Seeing so many people smiling and grateful for a Thanksgiving meal and observing scouts and volunteers helping was so inspiring. THANK YOU!

I have invited the Bernardo Luciano to appear as a guest on my WVOX radio show tomorrow at 10 AM (1460 AM or www.wvox.com) to discuss his life, company and why he donated 1,000 meals for the hungry---such a generous gift to the community.
