[ARCHIVED] NOTICE FOR FIRE DISTRICT ANNUAL ELECTION OF HARTSDALE FIRE DISTRICT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that pursuant to Section 175 of the Town Law, the annual election of the Hartsdale Fire District will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Hartsdale Fire Station No. 1, 25 South Central Park Avenue, Hartsdale.

NOTICE FOR FIRE DISTRICT ELECTION

ANNUAL ELECTION OF

HARTSDALE FIRE DISTRICT

DECEMBER 13, 2022

 

                                                

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that pursuant to Section 175 of the Town Law, the annual election of the Hartsdale Fire District will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Hartsdale Fire Station No. 1, 25 South Central Park Avenue, Hartsdale, Town of Greenburgh, County of Westchester, State of New York, for the following purpose:

 

                        To elect one (1) Fire Commissioner for a term of five (5) years

                        

 

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the candidates for the position of Fire Commissioner shall file their names with the Secretary of the Hartsdale Fire District on or before November 23, 2022 and in addition, require that such nomination be submitted in petition form signed by twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the District.  A form of nominating petition will be furnished by the Secretary upon request of any candidate.

 

The following Proposition will be submitted to the qualified voters for their approval or disapproval:

PROPOSITION

SHALL the bond resolution of the Hartsdale Fire District, in the Town of Greenburgh, Westchester County, New York, adopted October 18, 2022, authorizing the acquisition of a parcel of real property, including the existing structure thereon, located at 22 South Washington Avenue, Hartsdale, New York, to be used for Fire District purposes; stating that the estimated maximum cost thereof, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and the financing thereof, is $490,000; appropriating said amount for such purpose; authorizing the issuance of not to exceed $490,000 bonds of the Fire District to finance said appropriation; stating that the period of probable usefulness of said project is thirty (30) years; and providing for the levy and collection of taxes to pay the principal of said bonds and the interest thereon as the same become due and payable,” BE APPROVED?

 

The polls shall remain open for the purpose of receiving ballots of those qualified to vote during the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

 

To be qualified to vote at this election, voter must be

            

1.                  A citizen of the United States

 

2.                  A resident in the Hartsdale Fire District for a period of thirty (30) days next preceding an election.

 

3.                  A registered voter in the County under permanent personal registration

Registered with the Board of Elections of the Hartsdale Fire District certifying conditions (1) and (2) above.
