[ARCHIVED] cell service in E Irvington improving

We are asking residents of E Irvington for feedback.

For many years residents of sections of  E Irvington - especially those living on or near Taxter Road, have lacked cell service or had service that was horrible.  It's been a big problem. Lack of cell service during emergencies created stress and anxiety among residents. We've tried hard to encourage providers to address this problem.
Recent progress!!!  Verizon has taken action to activate wireless nodes. And residents are reporting that service has improved. But, there are areas in E Irvington where service still  is not great. If you live in E Irvington or drive on streets within the E Irvington neighborhoods please advise if service has improved or is still bad.

The Town has become aware that 3 of the 4 Verizon wireless nodes are now activated. The 4th node is anticipated to be activated soon. Please feel free to respond with your street name and update on Verizon service at your house (poor, better/adequate, great) to gduquesne@greenburghny.com. I'd appreciate it if you would copy me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com.

The Town has made representatives of the other remaining carriers aware of the system and provided information for them to co-locate. Additional outreach and updates in this regard are planned by the Town. Please note that the Town does not control the system and has no control over whether or not the other carriers participate.
