[ARCHIVED] NYS promises to patch up craters/potholes on Central Ave this week--state owned road

Central Ave is a NYS road, not a town road. Other state roads within Greenburgh are in horrible shape and need to be rebuilt, milled and repaved. Significant craters, potholes

Getting many, many, many complaints about potholes, craters on Central Ave. Central Ave is a NYS road under the jurisdiction of NYS government, not the town. I met with state Department of Transportation officials over a week ago and have been in contact with them almost daily - reporting the horrible conditions. They promised to send a crew to repair the potholes this week. The officials I met with at the State DOT are trying hard to be responsive -- they have a problem: an inadequate budget and insufficient staff. I suggested to the state that they consider entering into an agreement with the town- let the town repair each pothole and maintain the roads they own and get reimbursed for our costs if they think that would be helpful.  On a positive note - the NYS Legislature increased funding for road repairs in the just approved budget.   Sorry for the aggravation.  PAUL FEINER
