Our crews are still working - and roads are passable. We won't stop working until roads are in great shape. Please don't dump snow in the road and if you live near sidewalks please clear the path in front of your house. Some safety tips below
The majority of the accumulating snow has come to an end for the area, but there will still be another 2 - 3 hours of light snow & flurries. Additional accumulations though should only max out at 1". However, it will remain very windy and blowing & drifting snow will remain an issue through tonight and even into early Sunday morning. Unfortunately, this can result in the "recovering" of cleaned/plowed surfaces and pavements. Also, it will be bitterly cold during clean-up efforts as wind chills will be near zero for rest of today, then below zero tonight.
Please avoid dumping snow on road. Our highway crews clear the roads and then people dump the snow back on the road --creating hazardous conditions for motorists. We've had complaints about this during the day. Our crews will continue working until roads are in good shape.
If a sidewalk is in front of your house please clear sidewalk of snow so that pedestrians can safely walk on the walk. And be careful. Lots of people slip and fall after storms. Hospitals emergency rooms are busy this time of year.
