The Greenburgh Town Board will continue our public hearing on Wednesday evening.
Hastings, Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown allowing for dispensaries. So are some cities in Westchester
The Greenburgh Town Board will continue our public hearing on cannabis dispensaries this Wednesday at 7:30 PM. The Villages of Hastings, Tarrytown are allowing dispensaries. (see article about Tarrytown below). Hearing will be held at Greenburgh Town Hall. You can e mail your thoughts to townboard@greenburghny.com
If the Town Board opts out of dispensaries Tarrytown and Hastings will get to keep all the revenue for themselves. If we opt in (even if it is regulated in a single area-such as an industrial zone) the town shares some of the revenue with the villages from the sales they have within their villages. One option for the Board to consider: Banning dispensaries on Central Ave, East Hartsdale Ave, Route 119, parts of Saw Mill River Road but allow it in a remote non residential areas--an industrial area, for example. Seems unlikely that the Board would allow lounges.
Board members have not made any decision as of yet. The public hearing is to hear your thoughts. We have till the end of the year to make any decision.
