[ARCHIVED] 2nd Recycling day December 4--Greenburgh DPW yard, Sprain Rd

Back by popular demand---drop off items on December 4th from 9 AM to 2 PM at the public works yard, 100 Sprain Road

The Town of Greenburgh will sponsor our second Recycling Day for 2021 at the Department of Public Works yard, 100 Sprain Road, Ardsley a week from Saturday, December 4 from 9 AM to 2 PM.  Our first recycling day, held in late August, was an enormous success -- residents asked that we do this again.

Residents can drop off furniture, mattresses, box swings, carpeting and rugs, small applicances (microwaves toasters, vaccums, coffee makers, large applicances -stoves, dishwashersm  washing machines, dryers, electronic waste; freon containing appliances - air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, scrap metal, bicycles, lawn mowers (gasoline removed), grills (no propane tanks),  vehicle batteries, textiles (clothing, shoes, sheets, towels), paint cans (paint cans can be emptied or the paint dried), boos, food scraps.

We cannot accept fire extinguishers, automotive fluids, motor oil, compressed gas, helium and oxygen tanks, explosives, fireworks, ammunition or flares, plastic bags.  Can't accept wood preservatives and stains, kerosene, turpentine and other flammable liquids, photo and swimming pool chemicals; construction  debris such as sheetrock, tile, insulation, toilets, sinks, pesticides, insecticides and herbicides, mercury thermometers and thermostats, flurescent light bulbs, CFLs, tube shaped light bulbs.

If you can't attend the event next week but still want to get rid of bulk items you can schedule an appointment on the town website. You can always contact dpw@greenburghny.com.

One of our goals is to establish a permanent recycling center in town- similar to what Scarsdale has successfully done over the years. The success of our last recycling day highlights the need to provide residents with this service.
