[ARCHIVED] 2022 Greenburgh budget- NO TAX HIKE PLANNED

The 2022 budget will be the third consecutive Greenburgh town budget with NO tax hikes. No tax hike in the A budget. No tax hike in the B budget!

2022 BUDGET PREPARATION UPDATE--My intention to propose a budget for 2022 with NO TAX HIKE

As many of our residents are aware, the deadline for the Town Supervisor’s submission of the Fiscal Year 2022 A, B and Capital Budgets is October 30, 2021. To that end, I have been working diligently with Town Comptroller Roberta Romano and each of the Town Departmental heads, to complete the process in a timely and efficient fashion.

Based upon my understanding of the extreme hardships many of our neighbors have encountered during this most difficult time in all our lives (flood damage and pandemic), IT IS MY INTENTION to present a budget to the Town Board, reflecting a ZERO dollar increase in Property Tax, for the THIRD consecutive year. Town officials  understand the sense of urgency and focus required to accomplish this goal and have worked “hard and smart” to prepare individual budgets which will maintain and enhance our services, while “holding the line on costs.” I would like to recognize and express my appreciation to Ms. Roberta Romano, Town Comptroller and her staff for their competence and diligence in this difficult and exhaustive process.

We are entering the Final Review portion of the budget process and will endeavor to finalize the formal 2022 Fiscal Year Budget within the next two weeks. When complete, I will forward a  more detailed letter, outlining the highlights of the Budgets., Special Capital Projects planned and enhancements and additions to our provision of service

Once again, thank you all for your support and for supporting each other during these most difficult times. Working together, we as a Town are stronger, better, always caring and most effective and efficient.

Thank you, it is, has been and always will be, an absolute pleasure working for and with you all.

With great respect,

Paul Feiner

Greenburgh Town Supervisor
