Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner and Town Clerk Judith Beville have been working to bring a farmer’s market to Greenburgh Town Hall. A small trial farmers market will be held outside the Greenburgh Town hall tomorrow, Thursday, September 30th and a week from Thursday, October 7 from 2 PM to 6 PM in the parking lot of Town Hall, 177 Hillside Ave.  We will build on the experiences of the trial markets and organize a much bigger market during the spring, summer and fall of 2022 with many more vendors who will  be invited to contribute to a cultural variety of farmers market items in an effort to highlight the cultural mosaic of the Town of Greenburgh.

Major features of our initial launch include the involvement of one of the largest and most successful farm-based business organizations in Westchester County, the Westchester Greenhouses & Farm located on West Hartsdale Ave, Town of Greenburgh and the Greenburgh Health Center located on Knollwood Road in the Town of Greenburgh – both serving residents of the town.   Greenburgh Health Center will have doses of Moderna and Pfizer (age 12+) available to any walk-ins eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine inside the Town Hall auditorium during the same hours as the market.

The Greenburgh Public Library will provide books from their children’s/youth collection. In addition, slightly used children’s books will be sold by a brother and sister team, Nirvaan and Tanisee Nagaldinne to benefit the Lois Bronz Children’s Center.  As 2021 Greenburgh Town Hall Summer Interns, Nirvaan and his sister, Tanisee, created this community service project as a way of “giving back” and encouraging the joy of reading.  Another former Greenburgh Town Hall Intern, Nandini Singh will provide delectable homemade sweets for visitors to the market to enjoy. Your support of the Greenburgh Town Hall “Trial Farmers Market is greatly appreciated!  Help make this initiative a tremendous success!  For further information, please contact Judith A. Beville, Greenburgh Town Clerk at jbeville@greenburghny.com or Krista Madsen, Special Assistant to the Town Supervisor, kmadsen@greenburghny.com.  Special thanks to the Department of Public Works and Police Department , Town of Greenburgh for their support and assistance.
