A rising 6th grader wants to help others start up their own Little Free Libraries in lower income neighborhoods. She is asking for help!
Anya Pathak is a rising 6th grader at the Greenville Elementary School in Edgemont. Last year Anya placed a Little Free Library in her front yard. These little free libraries exist all over the nation and enable residents to share books at no cost to the reader. Now, Anya is taking her love of books to the next level--trying to raise funds to start similar programs in lower income neighborhoods. She has created a go fund me page. If you'd like to help her please visit her go fund me page. She is also looking for suggestions where little libraries can be started in Greenburgh or around the county. If you know anyone who would like her help please advise. Visit http://edgemontfreelibrary.org. PAUL FEINER
Dear Mr. Feiner,
I hope you are doing well. My name is Anya Pathak and I worked with you last year to install a Little free library in my front yard. This year I wanted to expand the community book sharing initiative and have raised money to install additional libraries in under-served communities in and around Westchester. Please check out my fundraising campaign at https://www.gofundme.com/f/community-book-sharing-initiative. With the donations I have collected till date, I can purchase up to four libraries.
In this regard, I am seeking your help for information on suitable locations in the town of Greenburgh for installations. Furthermore, I would appreciate if you can connect me to other town supervisors or city mayors serving under-privileged areas who can benefit from free books.
I really hope to have your support on this community initiative. Looking forward to your response.
Thanks and regards,
Anya Pathak
