TOWN BOARD WORK SESSION TUESDAY- DISCUSSION REQUIRING EMPLOYEES TO BE VACCINATED OR TESTED WEEKLY

WESTCHESTER YOUTH CONGRESS VAX UP WESTCHESTER AUGUST 10

The Greenburgh Town Board will discuss at our work session today (August 3rd) an initiative being implemented at the federal, state levels and in Yonkers & New Rochelle. NYC has also announced a similar requirement. So has California and other states.  A requirement that  all Greenburgh town employees to be vaccinated (or get tested weekly) . Our meeting is held at Town Hall and will be streamed live on the internet: www.greenburghny.com and televised locally. Meeting starts at 6 PM.

Also, today, we will discuss requiring masks to be worn at all town owned buildings.   Vaccination, weekly testing, masks will help protect employees health as the more contagious delta variant of the virus spreads.

ZOOM DISCUSSION  ON AUGUST 10th

If you are hesitant about the vaccine watch...

Westchester Youth Congress/#VaxUpWestchester Zoom Town Hall on August 10 at 7:30 p.m. with all final participants and organizers.

  • Janice Lin represents the Youth Congress and is a student at Edgemont Junior-Senior High School and current Town of Greenburgh intern. This whole thing was her idea.
  • Carol B. Allen, MD was a practicing family physician in Westchester for decades and specialized in endocrinology, diabetes and internal medicine. And she also was Chairman of the pioneering Greenburgh Covid Angels, which laid the foundation for #VaxUpWestchester.
  • Yong Sing da Silva is, full disclosure, a friend of many years. But he has also been in the trenches of Covid ICU care at both ends of the pandemic and brings invaluable perspective. At the outset of Covid's surge in Spring 2020, Yong Sing was Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Kravis Children’s Hospital at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan. Having since relocated to Florida, he is now Medical Director of Pediatrics and a Pediatric Intensive Care Doctor at Palms West Children’s Hospital in Loxahatchee, FL.
  • Dr. Lawrence Neshiwat, MD is a practicing clinician affiliated with St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, among others, and specializes in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and has repeatedly assisted both Covid Angels and #VaxUpWestchester with vaccination and education efforts alongside his entire family of medical professionals.
  • And finally, Maura D. Frank Maura, MD is a retired Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics with Weill Cornell Medical and was a practicing pediatrician for many years. She has also been an instrumental volunteer in both the Covid Angels and #VaxUpWestchester, particularly when it comes to the concerns of parents and children.

There will be proper promotional flyers and such forthcoming, but please share this link and code/passcode far and wide. We want people to feel like they can log in from wherever they are: bit.ly/virtualvaccinetownhall Meeting code: 688 4791; Passcode: 213304
