[ARCHIVED] Caring Cupboard at Greenburgh Health Center opens up today at 4 PM

cupboard will be stocked with shelf stable food items for the hungry and poor. Tanya Shukla, a Junior at Ardsley High is organizing effort

We are pleased to announce the launch of the second Caring Cupboard at the Greenburgh Health Center (295 Knollwood Rd, White Plains) this Friday (July 23rd) at 4PM. The Caring Cupboard is a community service initiative to combat food insecurity in our community. It is based on the principle "take what you need and leave what you can". The Cupboard is stocked with shelf-stable food items (cans, dried food, and other non-perishable food items), household goods, and toiletries (toothpaste, water bottles, can openers, etc).
We have a network of student volunteers to help with packaging, pickup and other activities. This is a great initiative run by the youth in the community for a charitable cause. The idea of Caring Cupboard was originated by Tanya Shukla, a junior at the Ardsley High School, Westchester County, NY. During COVID time, she launched a non-profit Bridging Dots to consolidate all her charitable activities and has found tremendous support from her peers.
We hope to see the same success and community collaboration at the Greenburgh Health Center. To volunteer or drop off donations, you can email bridgingdots@gmail.com or DM @bridgingdots on instagram. PAUL FEINER
